Matthias Röder is the CEO of the Herbert von Karajan estate and founded the Karajan Music Tech Conference as well as the world’s first Classical Music Hackathon. Together with Seda Röder, he is the Co-Founder of www.sonophilia.com, a global think-tank for creative leadership.
Matthias studied classical guitar performance at the Mozarteum University with Eliot Fisk. He received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Harvard University where he completed his thesis on “Music, Politics and the Public Sphere in Late Eighteenth-Century Berlin”. As a Post-Doc at Harvard he founded the Digital Musicology Study Group (now at MIT) and advised artists and orchestras on online marketing strategy.
